Company overview:
JF Renshaw who were recently acquired by Bakels, was a UK-based company that specialised in the production of bakery ingredients, particularly known for its range of products used in cake decorating, sugarcraft, and the baking industry.
The company built a strong reputation for providing high-quality, professional products, serving both amateur bakers and professionals in the cake-making industry, and as a result received a Royal Warrant approval in 2015.
The company was granted the Royal Warrant of Appointment by Her Majesty the Queen as a supplier of cake decorations and bakery ingredients. This prestigious recognition means that JF Renshaw has been officially recognized as a supplier to the British royal family, a mark of quality and trust.
Working relationship:
Jamie started working with JF Renshaw in August 2019 following an introduction to their HR Director from their incoming CEO.
Following an initial introductory conversation, Jamie travelled to their UK manufacturing site in Liverpool to meet the team, learn more about the business and understand how he could help.
This led to successful partnership that lasted from 2019 until 2022 that saw Jamie and JF Renshaw successful complete 15 out of 17 projects. The 2 project that didn’t come to fruition were Sales roles, which were cancelled at 2nd stage interview when the UK went into full lockdown in 201when the COVID pandemic spread across Europe.
The successful partnership continued until 2022, but JF Renshaw unfortunately started struggling financially due to a huge increase in the price of raw materials after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. At the same time manufacturing costs were also increasing due to energy price hikes.
At this time the business went through a major headcount reduction to reduce overheads, and shortly after the business was acquired by British Bakels.
