How we helped Treatt strengthen their European sales team
Overview:
Treatt is a global company that specializes in the production and supply of natural extracts, flavors, and ingredients used primarily in the food and beverage, personal care, and fragrance industries.
The company is known for its expertise in creating high-quality, innovative ingredients that enhance the sensory experiences of products. They offer a range of solutions, including citrus oils, fruit and vegetable extracts, essential oils, and natural flavoring compounds.
Treatt have a very strong record on talent retention, and have repeatedly developed some exceptional professionals from entry level to senior level, however, following their recent investment into a brand new manufacturing facility in the UK and the recent loss of a long term employee who had been with the business almost 10 years, Treatt were looking to hire 2 senior sales professionals to help in the European market.
The ideal professionals would bring a wealth of experience and value to the team, would have the track record to help continue Treatts ambitious growth plans in Europe whilst also being able to help pass on valuable insights and mentorship to junior colleagues.
Although Treatt have their HQ in Bury St Edmunds, UK, the roles would be remote based and our search was to focus on both the UK and Central Europe in order to find the best talent, who were most likely employed in a similar or competitor business.
Specific requirements for the search:
- Proven sales track record withing the B2B flavour and ingredient industry.
- Strong knowledge and experience working with the leading F&F houses AND/OR large multinational beverage manufactures.
- Preferably experience working with citrus ingredients, essential oils, natural extracts, botanicals, flavours, etc.
- Strong Account Management and Business Development experience.
- Culture fit to the business.
How we helped:
- Brief: Met with various stakeholders to get a detailed understanding of the brief and expectations. Highlighted the types of companies where professionals working in similar roles would have gained the experience and highlight any companies that should be avoided for various reasons.
- Regular updates: Had regular calls to discuss market data, search success and challenges.
- Market mapping: Created a long list, mapping 115 professionals from various competitors and target organization across the UK and Europe.
- Attract: Approached a smaller targeted list of prospects with full transparency about the opportunity, the organization, the vision, and the WIIFT (What’s in it for them).
- Screen and present: Presented a shortlist of 10 thoroughly screened professionals, including CVs, Video Introductions, Executive Summary’s and behavioural assessments.
- Interviews: Organized all stages of a 2-stage interview process including travel from Europe to the UK, starting with 9 professional and leading to final 4 face-to-face and 2 offers.
- Negotiations: Handled all aspects of the offer and negotiation phase, aligning expectations of both internal stakeholders and candidates.
